Today I put Ryan down for his nap and after fussing for a few minutes he burst into tears. It wasnt the normal it was big sad sobs. After a while I went in to check on him and found the worst possible thing. For a two year old anyway.
There he was with the biggest tears rolling down his red swollen cheeks. Blanket in one hand, tag in the other. My heart broke into a million pieces! This tag has seen baby boy through everything- ups and downs. Doctor visits and road trips, nap times and toy story marathons.
As soon as Ryan picked Tag as his special lovey blanket I went to Target and bought another one. Six months later when cruising the baby aisle they still had them so I bought a third. We have swapped them out over the last 2 years so they all feel and smell the same. Boy was I grateful for the hindsight today. I told him mommy would fix it and I brought him another one. The look on his face was pure joy. Its amazing how much this blanket means to this boy. He even wrote it a letter on this blog.
The reason he calls it TAG is because without the Carters tag on that blanket it wouldnt mean a thing. He sucks on it, chews on it when hes sad, these days he tucks it under his chin when he goes to sleep. I am shocked they've all lasted this long because he even carries the blanket around by the little tag.
Oh the simple things in life :) I found a few long lost pictures on one of my cards.

Awe, that's so sweet. It's funny the things that kids get attached too! And what a good mommy you are for buying so many of those blanky's! :)
