stepping out

Its become quite comical every Sunday when I take my stepping out photos. We are usually running late for church, kids are fussing, hubs is trying to get his tie on while I am nagging at him to snap pictures at the right time. aka- when no one is driving by, only when I am making a good face and my pose is perfect, when the sun is in right spot. I am totally demanding and he puts up with me week after week. Thanks babe.

The issue of location comes up. Today we tried to stop at a farm on the side of the road but I knew that fellow church goers were driving by and the farm owners were coming out to see what the heck we were up too. It was stressful and embarrassing so I op-ed for the corner of the parking lot instead.

this weekend was kind of a wash. we went to the market in the rain and sat around the rest of saturday. hubs works so its always a long day. our weekends are sunday/monday. so happy weekend to us!

and by the way I am watching weston crawl around the family room right now. hes such an over achiever.

stepping out and weekend recap

Okay I am going to just be vain here. I felt really pretty this weekend. To kick things off we had a pacific northwest blogger meet up on Friday night. As of Thursday afternoon I was not going but a few miracles happened and I got myself a ticket to the event. It was like a first date for real. I spent twice as long getting ready as I normally do for an outing, and I had a nervous, sweaty panic attack the whole way down to Portland.

Totally silly though because I had met a few of the ladies before- the same weekend LAST year actually! and they all love me unconditionally and truly KNOW me. It was such a relief to walk in the door of the Lucky Lab Brewery and get the biggest hug from Libby. That girl is so amazing and made me feel very welcome. Mandy, Amy, and Jill showed up a little while later and I was in bloggy girl friend heaven. I also got to hang out with other awesome blog friends- Melissa, Mandy, Chelsey and more. Best part was I met new blog friends too! 

It was great to sit and visit with these ladies and hang out baby free for the whole night. We also went to breakfast Saturday morning at this little bistro in downtown. Best breakfast ever- it was so worth the wait. I cant wait to see them again I am already missing everyone so much.

then I kept it real classy and stuff- I wore the same dress for our date Saturday night. Dont worry I sprayed some perfume on we were good to roll. We went to see Snow White and the Huntsman. Guys- I cried. It was so good. It was really intense and the acting was amazing! Even from Bella. Charlize was crazy good and gave me goosebumps. Everyone go see it!

Today was a day of firsts. First middle part (since elementary school anyway) first belt IN the loops, first tucked in top. I also had lipstick on. Lets just say HUGE failure.  I feel like any one of these things could have stood on their own but all together it was just bad. This face says it all. 

I see toms and a pony tail for the rest of the day my friends. Hubs stepped out to work. Lookin mighty fine if I do say so muh-self. 

He hates that I made him take this picture. Anyway he works for Verizon Wireless. He is the best salesman/customer service/fix your phone and make it awesome- er in the whole world. That is not a biased opinion. That is fact. If you need phone help hit him up via emailing me. 

This also happened today. We were hanging out in bed when we heard Ry making noise down stairs. After a while he came up to tell me its was breakfast time. He got out the eggs, cheese, bacon, a bowl, and TWO forks. I think this means he is all grown up... sigh. 

Steppin out plans include hanging out with my bro and sis in law who each came in to town last minute. Hubs father was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday where they found multiple blood clots in his legs and and lugs. He is at home, on blood thinners and doing MUCH better. Thank you for ALL the prayers we have received this week. Dinner will most likely take place at Ryan's personal heaven on earth- the olive garden.

Woah baby I stepped out TWICE this weekend. That is epic my dear blog friends. Saturday we went to Costco  to purchase a new laptop- our old one is a complete mess and has been repaired far too many times. Getting used to the 10-key on the new one but I am loving it so far!

Pencil skirt and super high heels- baaaaad idea when you have to sit in church with 2 wiggly kids, breastfeed, and carry lots of bags. I felt pretty though so I guess that what mattered at the time. I also came home from church early so the kids could take a good nap and was back in my pj's as fast as I could.

I havent done one of these forever but as I was standing in my closet today wondering what in the heck to wear to church (my favorite day to dress for!) I decided to be brave and put on a white linen dress that is totally made for summer bbq's and add some winter flair. How did I do?

Since it was a church day I figured I would tell you that Ryan is LOVING nursery class again, it was hard when we moved because we went to a new congregation which meant new class and new friends. Took a few months but today he ran to the door and did a pretty epic happy dance. Also- nursing in this dress... awkward. Had to pretty much open the whole thing up in the front for chow time. 

Getting a toddler break this week- Ry is going to mimi and papi's house for a few days. Time to finish up some projects in the family room while hes gone. Hitting up Home Goods to add some character to this great room space down stairs. 

I'll miss him!

Ryan loves the market its the only time he is guaranteed to be super happy in his stroller. As long as he can look at everyone's doggies and eat his way through its a lovely experience for all. I totally brought my double stroller this time! I only had one kid with me but the other side was perfect for all the yummy produce and beautiful blush colored peonies I bought. Plus I like to describe it as the difference between driving a Kia Rio and a Lexus. Both are great but one is just nicer than the rest. Vroom Vroom.

Most of the time I hate where we live. BUT there is this really cool part where we are so GREEN up here in the PNW and I am not just talking about the trees. It was the recycled arts festival- so much color and so much fun. 

 We almost took home this cat from the humane society. I wonder if hubs would mind?

So many herbs and other plants. Aunt Becca joined us for the day and it was a lot of fun. I love our weekly tradition of going to the market. I hope to raise my kids to love local goodness and their community.

Speaking of kids, you thought you almost got off the hook and almost let ya. But we are still working on the potty training. We didnt get the amazing 3 day results that others have gotten from that program and I was pretty bummed about it but almost a week into it I am not going back just yet we dont have a single diaper in this house. I have pull ups for errands and sleeping but thats it. Hopefully he will figure it out soon. He is ready there is no doubt about that, hes just stubborn and loves a good stand off.

Just thought I would add that as I am typing this baby jelly bean is flipping around like CRAZY in my belly :)
