Weston | 16 months

It was so fun to do monthly updates the first year, then he turned 12 months and I stopped! I miss it. He is changing so much and if I dont write it down I will forget it. 

at 16 months

finally weighs 20 lbs!

wears 12 month clothes

size 4 diapers since that was what I buy for Ryan

cloth diapers every now and then, they stink all the time no matter how I wash them so it's really ruining the fun of it all for me

sleeps a solid 12-14 hours every night, its heaven

in between 1 and 2 naps a day, naps well too. this kid is an incredible sleeper

HAS HAIR. I am never cutting it. 

has 11 teeth and working on the lower eye teeth- its hell for him and he's miserable

walks

runs

climbs

everywhere

becoming a picky eater and gets mad when I give him a sippy cup instead of one with a straw BUT still has 2 bottles of milk a day, one afternoon and one before bed. I will kick that habit by the end of the summer. he was really under weight since 9 months so they wanted me to keep it and do half heavy cream

favorite foods- hot dogs, cereal, oatmeal, and pretty much any dinner I make, the longer it takes to prepare the better chance he'll eat it. meaning, he likes yummy adult food

hates alfredo sauce??

says mama, baba, dada

signs more, all done, waves bye, and wash hands

has no clue where his body parts are- I am failing

can follow basic instructions- get me the cup, go get your shoes, toss the ball

tries to color with crayons, would rather eat them

still OBSESSED with his taggy blanket and wubanub pacifier. we started making him leave them in his bed for nap time in hopes to wean him off the pacie by the end of the year

daddy his his favorite, also his best friend Brie

loves playing with cars, balls, and random mardi gras style necklaces 

wants to brush his teeth and wash his hands/face all the time

can finally climb down the stairs at our house without giving me a heart attack 

loves to read books

still riding backwards in his car seat and will be for another year or more

I have a feeling he will climb out of crib soon :/ 

Weston is 12 months old

holy cow it went by fast... too fast. I just wrote your birthday letter but wanted to do the traditional monthly update. I will probably go to every other month or something like that now. We'll see.

dont have stats, dr apt next week. I am guessing 19 pounds?

getting picky when it comes to food!

thought I would be done nursing but you are loving it again so still do that a few times in a 24 hour period

trying to read more books but you could care less, silly boy

just started paying attention to the TV- likes baby Einstein 

loves the wubanub pacie and your taggy blanket. 

I found you in your bed one day- you took off your socks and was rubbing the tag on your toes just like Ryan. you guys are so crazy

will continue to rear face in the car as long as possible- hopefully making it another year! you dont mind it one bit and love our graco click connect 40 car seat.

you actually slept in our bed a bit! you roll around too much and got the boot though

you are a climber. you try to get on top of everything, can go all the way up the stairs and try to climb out of your crib- its on the lowest setting now so it should hold you a while longer

Weston is 11 months

Oops, getting to this one a little late aren't I! but it's the first time I've been late all year so I still get a high five, right?

Here we go, 11 months old! Actually almost ONE year old. We are in the same month as his birthday. I am a mess, someone come hold me. I hate that we are here already, I wish time would have slowed down like I begged it too every month this year. I am not ready for him to be this big and its breaking my heart. Why do they have to grow up so fast?

But he's pretty freaking cute though, and totally awesome to boot. Here is what 11 months is like- 

weighs about 18 pounds

wears 9 or old navy's 6-12 month size clothes with room to grow

cloth diapers or size 4 because Ryan still wears them and I am too cheap to buy 2 different sizes when they are close enough

goes to bed around 7:30 and gets up around 8am. 

wakes up once to nurse, I love it and will let him do it for a while longer

sleeps in his crib and occasionally in our bed after the midnight nurse

in the middle of transitioning himself from 2 naps to 1. not sure how i feel about this one yet! he stays awake and plays during his first nap and then takes a really long one in the afternoon but he seems to still need that time in the morning, even if hes awake

still has never had a night away from me, I'm not ready for that one at all

Nurses morning and night, maybe once during the day. 

Taking away the formula bottles because he is starting to hate them

eats 3 full meals and snacks of real food 

starting to get picky with what he eats! (bahh, advice needed!)

loves water in his sippy cup, still never had juice and I am happy about that

still isn't walking on his own

turned everything into a push toy, including kitchen chairs and walks around with them

loves to empty kitchen cabinets

busts up laughing when he THINKS he will get tickled, its the best

makes snorty faces at me when he doesnt like something

shakes his head no

obsessed with his blanket and pacifier

HATES socks and shoes and pulls them off within seconds

getting cuddly again and wants to be held a lot

has 4 top teeth and 2 bottom teeth

thinks getting his nails clipped is the worst thing ever

loves to have his picture taken (gets a huge cheesy grin when I pull out my camera)

surprisingly stays away from the christmas tree! win!

we are all his favorite people this month! he is happy with mom, dad, and Ryan all the same

I can't wait for his birthday party! I am putting together some fun stuff to celebrate his first year and excited to watch it all come together. Keep your eyes out for some sneak peeks! 

Weston is 10 months old

10 months, we are entering the holiday season and I know I will blink and we will be celebrating his first birthday in style. 

not sure on weight, probably just under 17 pounds

cloth diapers still, though I am starting to hate it- they stink

9 or 6-12 month size clothes

breastfeeding and formula 50/50 these days

eats all table food with gusto, loves oatmeal and yogurt the most

thinks cheerios in a bowl on the floor rocks

takes 2 really long or 3 short naps a day

goes to bed around 9 and sleeps til 9, waking up once or twice to eat

falls asleep on his own with his pacie and favorite blanket

never cries when he wakes up, just hangs out in his room til I go check on him!

has taken a few steps but nothing I would label WALKING yet

climbs up stairs, can't go down alone

has the best belly aching laugh
loves to play hide and seek
loves to wrestle with daddy and Ryan
love bath time and tries to climb in by himself

signs all done and more- sometimes

his hair is getting thick, finally. its a nice golden brown color with casts of red

still the best baby ever, I can't imagine loving him more.

weston is 9 months old

Here we go, another month. Nine is a big number for me! He has now been in my arms as long as he was in my belly. He is still mild mannered and sweet as can be. He is perfect for me and for this family. 

at 9 months- 

wears 9 or 6-12 old navy size clothes

95% cloth diapering with bumgenius 

walks along everything

climbs up stairs

takes 3 naps a day and is in bed roughly 12 hours a night. this last month he started waking up a ton at night, every 2 hours or so- it's been rough but its from having a cold and teething

sleeps on his side with his favorite taggy blanket and his wubanub pacifier 

breastfeeds and takes a bottle of formula every day

we kind of skipped the whole baby food phase and went right to table food- he has 3 meals a day

feeds himself with his pincer grasp and eats everything in sight

chugs sippy cups full of ice water

has discovered how funny it is to crawl away laughing when I am trying to pick him up

laughs at everything

gets super bashful when woman smile at him

got FOUR top teeth this month! they all came in at once and it was h.e.l.l. but we survived. 

gets startled easily. I have to warn him by whistling or saying hello before I open his door to get him up, otherwise he will get spooked and hit his face on the railing of the crib. 

starting to cuddle again and gives the best hugs 

loves to lick daddy's face when its scruffy.. weird much?

loves to talk to ryan when they are in the car

possibly moving him to a bigger car seat, rear facing. 

hates to get dressed or have his diaper changed and fights it so hard

also fights getting his nails clipped- at that moment my 9 month old is stronger than me and hubs combined. 

started wearing shoes! It sounds silly when I put it that way but I never put shoes on babies until they start walking around, he has been doing it for a while but I finally broke out the massive box of boy shoes and pulled out all the robeez!

Weston is 8 months old

Here we are! Another month goes by. Weston Teuscher is 8 months old!

I say this every month and I will say it again. He is perfect, he is the happiest baby on the block just like Easton from A Sorta Fairy Tale. They are bff soul mates. I couldnt ask for a more wonderful baby and I love him more than words can say. 

He only cries when he is tried or hungry and is always easily soothed. He laughs and smiles all the time, he is my magical baby and everywhere we go people fall in love with him.

At 8 months-

dont have a weight this month but he is losing his baby chub and thinning out a ton

wears 9 month size clothes or 6-12 month old navy

cloth diapering 95% of the time

size 3 disposables

goes to bed around 8pm and is in bed for 12 hours, waking up once or twice to nurse. 

takes 3 solid naps a day

plays in his crib when he wakes ups so I never know exactly how long he sleeps

sleeps on his side or tummy 

walks along everything 

tries to crawl up the stairs

gets stuck under the kitchen chairs 10 times a day

has very dry skin and needs lots of lotion- pretty much always has diaper rash

is obsessed with his pacifier and blanket and has to sleep with them every time

only sleeps in his crib, refuses to sleep in my bed and it makes me sad

breastfeeds 3/4 of the time and the other feedings has formula. I never thought I would be using formula but I will write more on that later. still super distracted while he nurses so I only feed him in his room with the lights out.

eats table food and loves it. 

he has nailed the pincer grasp and can pick up small bites of food. 

loves to be tickled and laugh

loves to talk and says gaga, dada, and baba

loves to play with Ryan in the car and hates it when we go anywhere without him

growing some HAIR! its coming in really fast too. 

hates to have his diaper changed or get dressed he screams and wiggles away

has 2 teeth, his top ones are about to poke through so its lots of teething tablets and tylenol 

doesnt care about watching tv, thank goodness

loves books and pictures

loves to lick all things glass or metal 

favorite toys are balls and mommy's headbands

loves to take baths with Ryan

Daddy is his favorite person and he gets mad when he leaves

But if he is just with me and I leave the room he cries s ton, we have hit the separation anxiety stage and he prefers to be with mommy or daddy, he will still go to other people and even "strangers" without crying but he will always reach back to me. 

thinks its silly when I sing but loves it when Ryan sings to him. "soft kitty" is his favorite song 

We love you peanut! You are the best, happy 8 months.

Weston T. is 7 months old

Yesterday this perfect chunk o' love turned 7 months! That means he has almost been in my arms as long as he was in my belly. I can't believe it. I have baby fever so bad already- he is just awesome and I want 100 more babies like him.

He is still super easy going, getting busy, and happy all the time. I count my blessings every day! He is moving so fast and I feel like he is growing up so much every day.

at SEVEN months:

weighs 15.4 pounds

wears 6-9 month size clothes and old navy 6-12

cloth diapers 99% of the time 

sleeps pretty good- takes a few hour long naps during the day 

usually wakes up once at night around 4am unless he's teething.

crawls, STANDS, sits up, tries to climb stairs (hold me) 

breastfeeds

eats table food and loves it

takes a sippy cup with water

love to play with toys

still loves his wubanub/soothie pacie 

obsessed with his lovey blanket aka taggy its the same style as Ryan's blankets! I did not plan that one!

climbs out of the baby swing :/

decides he is tired or hungry and will let out the biggest cry all the sudden but then is easily consoled

sits up in the bathtub like a big boy now

likes to play outside in the grass

went swimming with mommy

loves to play with my hair 

loves everyone and always smiles at people when we are out- especially anyone that looks like a grandparent- oh man he flirts it up.

has the biggest cheesy smile ever and loves the camera 

I am finally his favorite with ryan and daddy tied for second. 

Happy 7 months Peanut :)

weston is 6 months old

We are half way to one and I want to just cry about it. I absolutely love this baby of mine and the stage he is in but I miss my little cuddly infant. Where did time go? As of tomorrow we are officially closer to being one than to the day I first held him. Every day I fall in love with him more and more, he amazes me.

I love his big blue eyes, the fact that he is starting to get some hair, and those rolls. Dont even get me started on the rolls. I love how he fits ever so perfectly into our family and how I cant imagine my life without him even though he's only been here for a few months. I am so grateful for his sweet spirit and magical personality. He makes everyone around him happy. I can't take him anywhere without people just flocking to  him and smiling and laughing because he is so happy all the time. He makes me want to be better and be happier too. 

He has his 6 month check up on Tuesday. I will update this with his stats but I am anxious to see how big he is getting. At six months he...

Happy 6 months Weston, the first half has been amazing- cant wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for us!9-

Weston T. | 5 months old

Mr Weston went and did it again. He grew on me. He is now 5 months old! 

at 5 months old- 

wears 6 month clothes

one size bum genius pocket diapers or size 2 disposable
cloth diapering 95% of the time

sits up for seconds at a time

rolls over both ways

laughs coo's SO loud all the time

is always happy

takes 3 long naps every day

sleeps from 9pm til about 5am then goes back down til about 8am 

still exclusively breastfed and loving it. not really a comfort nurser but I love that I can fix anything with a boob!

has had a few sips of water from a sippy cup and loves it

tried baby food twice but doesnt seem ready yet. I am thinking about just starting table food using the baby led weaning program

loves his big brother more than ever and always stares at him, they play who can laugh the loudest in the car!

plays with toys, loves his crinkly book and sophie the giraffe the most, passes them from hand to hand and into his mouth

can put his own pacie back in his mouth

can scoot around and crawl backwards or in circles and will post up to his hands and knees
 (someone make it stop) 

loves his wubbanub pacie and his blankets

hangs out in his bumbo but is starting to climb out of it

likes to watch baby eintstein 

thinks its funny when I sing to him
got his first owie when Ryan dropped a sippy cup on his face :( black eye and all

decided he likes to sleep swaddled on his back instead of his tummy 

did I mention he is always happy? seriously ALL THE TIME. It's the best. 

and the biggest news of all- HE CUT HIS FIRST TOOTH! his poor gums are swollen and sore looking but hes hanging in there.

West is 3 months old

Here we are friends, 3 months old! We are almost out of the "4th trimester" and things are about to get a whole lot busier and a lot more fun- well for everyone else. I LOVE the infant stage where they just want to be held and cuddle/nurse all day long. Talk about heaven!

Love this boy more and more every day, he is amazing.

weighs about 14 lbs

goes to bed between 9pm and 10pm

sleeps all night and wakes up around 6 to eat then goes back to bed for a few hours

cat naps most of the day still in his swing and gets 2 big naps in his bed

can sit up on his own for a few seconds

rarely poos and always has a blow out when he does

gets called Ryan or Brad (hubs) every now and then sometimes even monkey which is ry's nick name. his is actually peanut. 

still breastfeeding, not really keeping a schedule of his feedings he just eats when hes hungry, anywhere from 2 hours to 5 hours and I am happy with it

went to his first movie- the vow. was rather fussy the whole time which surprised me. 

sleeps in his OWN ROOM (moved him a few weeks ago, it was bitter sweet) 

talks  and smiles all the time and is really loud 

rarely cries but when he does it goes from happy to screaming cry in a few seconds, is easily consoled though

still looks nothing like his brother but looks just like my sisters 

Ryan is still his favorite though Mimi is pulling in for a close second.

West is 2 months old!

I will say it again every month- I cant believe he is so big! I want him to stay little still but he has other plans. 

at 2 months old:

weighs roughly 11 lbs havent gotten in to his 2 month check yet

has the bluest eyes I've ever seen

loves sitting up against the couch

hates laying down

still sleeping on his tummy

goes to bed around 10 and is ready to get up at 10 am usually nurses once or twice during that time

loves breastfeeding

and his brother the mostest

laughs and coo's all the time

doesnt look like a snapping turtle anymore when he smiles. bitter sweet.

is the best at road trips

has been to seattle and spokane already. going to utah next weekend

always has a snotty nose and hates getting it sucked out

loves looking at me

toots constantly

is happy most of the time

has the best double chin.

I have searched high and low but cant find the car fabric from his one month so I am just going to use the cream couch from now on. 

6 weeks and postpartum

Weston T. is 6 weeks old already! Three days ago I cried while packing up his newborn clothes, I love that he is healthy and thriving but I wish he would just slow down. I am a newborn mama for sure I love the first 6 months they are my favorite and time is slipping away just too quickly for my taste.

at 6 weeks Weston is:

wearing 0-3 month size clothes but they are still a little big

size 1 diapers

awake much more during the day but still takes long naps

insists on being in bed at 11pm sharp every night and gets very irritated if I try to cuddle him after this point

sleeps from 11 to either 4 OR 6 am then goes back to bed til 9

still sleeping in our room in his pack n play on his tummy with his pacie and tiger that plays lullabies 

loves tummy time and baths

obsessed with Ryan

SMILING and cooing a bit. I LOVE these moments

has baby acne pretty bad but it should clear up in a week or so

burps like an old man 

lets me swaddle him sometimes

loves the boobies and nursing but only eats when hes hungry unlike his brother who was a comfort nurser for sure.

enjoys the little travel swing that's for grandmas house over the big nice swing. go figure.

Postpartum 

As for me and being postpartum- its interesting for sure. Completely different from things with Ryan. I felt really good coming off this pregnancy almost like a high. I was blissfully happy and I was scared that it would all come crashing down like it did before. Things were amazing for about 3 weeks but then it hit me one day in Target of all places when my mom called me and I just started sobbing right there in the little girls section while I was trying to make a B line for the baby stuff behind it.

Since that day I have been taking an antidepressant because I didnt want to pass it off as baby blues and struggle for the next few months. I am really glad I made the choice I did and am not ashamed of needing a little extra help. Having a baby does so much more than make your belly big for 9+ months. It affects your mind, spirit, body, and soul. Every part of you changes when you have a baby and it happens again when you have a second, third and so on. As for now I am feeling really good. I still will randomly feel like crying for no reason and if I am at home or another socially acceptable place like my car at a stop light then I will just let it out. I take it as my body's way of ridding itself of crazy pregnancy hormones I no longer need. Plus having an infant is rough no matter how easy they are or how many times you've done in in the past. Thats something to cry about right there!

Having a baby is also a wonderful thing, its life's greatest thrill if you ask me. I am sure I have new moms or newly pregnant ladies reading and my point is not to scare you or depress you about what life is like after that baby comes. I was unprepared for the emotional side of delivery and beyond the first time and I dont want anyone to be in shock like I was. So breathe a sigh of relief girls, its awesome. Trust me, I will do it again in a few years for sure and probably more after that too.

As for the bod- back down to my pre RYAN weight. 6 months before I got pregnant with Weston I was diagnosed with psuedotumor ceribri which is a really fancy way of saying my body acted like I had a brain tumor when in fact I did NOT. Scary time I never want to repeat- during that whole thing I lost a lot of weight to the point where people thought I was struggling with an eating disorder. It was just all the medication I was taking for it. So to say I want to be back to pre weston weight is not true that was not very attractive in my opinion. I like to have some hips and boobs! However I am really bad at working out which means I have ZERO muscle on this body of mine. Being a gymnast for many years I always had greatly toned muscles and I am dying to have them back. I am going to start some light weight training soon.

Breastfeeding- going amazing! I have been blessed with great boobs, good eaters, and patience to learn the art- for it truly is. I have always had an ample milk supply but the last week its been rough. Hardly any let down and I can tell Weston is really irritated after a min or so when there isnt much left and the same thing happens on the other side. So instead of filling his belly to the brim every 4 hours I am topping him off every 1.5 to 2 hours hoping to get my body to produce more again. I am also being extremely lazy relaxing, drinking lots of water, and trying to eat everything in sight. Hopefully it will get better in a few days. My nursing bras are a 34E (yeah I know..) but I barely fill out my B cups from before! Pray for me and my milk please.

If you made it through all this, mad props to you. I just want to be able to remember everything and I know from experience if I dont write it down I will forget over time. This is such an amazing time in my life I would never want to lose it.
