playing catch up. what its really like.

Life is so crazy right now. Hubs working over full time, his school, my thriving business, other random ventures I have going, keeping my house clean so I dont lose my freaking mind, and oh yes... the children. 

I am barely treading water guys! My sister and I were talking last night about this blog and she goes "you know your life looks super fun and easy if all I see is the blog" 

Baaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Wow, so not true! I am not here to complain,  I signed up for all this when I got married and started popping out adorable babies. But I have been saying to my mom and the hubs lately that I had NO idea what I was getting myself into! This is freaking hard! 

I keep losing brain cells each time I get pregnant. I am scared eventually I wont be able to complete a proper sentence... wait that has already happened. Does anyone else just feel like a crazy person after having kids? Does that ever come back? I now understand the term- Mom Brain.

But these guys, they are awesome. We have had a great week playing at my parents house and soaking up some PNW sun. Ryan's hair is so light blonde and he is so tan, I am loving it. I am just sun burnt of course.

We had a fun 4th, we were in a parade with my old gymnastics gym and then we just ordered pizza as a small family and did our own fireworks in the driveway and it was early to bed for all of us and hubs left to make the 3 hour drive back home to be at work Thursday.

All of my business ventures are on the computer. My fingers feel like they are going to fall off if I type any more. Thats all for now folks.

I feel like I should add a "ttyl" in here.....

fathers day

Bad wifey over here. I never posted about Fathers Day! We did celebrate in style and had a great day.

I made a big breakfast in the morning, we attended church- oh thats right we also got a flat tire, ryan screamed for an hour during church about fruit snacks, he wouldnt go to nursery, then brad had to change the tire in the parking lot in his white shirt and tie, we didnt have room for it to go in our trunk and had to ask some friends to take it home with them (thanks sami!) we left early, put the kids down for a nap, and polished off the pan of brownies I made that morning- they were supposed to be for dessert!

It all ended well because we had dinner with his parents and the men got to chuckle at their cards and gifts. all done by ryan of course!

I made these in photoshop and then printed them on a standard 8.5x11 card stock and framed them. super easy and made for lots of laughs

One of the best things about being a parent is creating new family traditions. Especially ones that center around holidays. If we are friends on facebook you will have already seen my rant about how I think the Easter Bunny is pretty much stupid. I have been really trying to figure out how to celebrate our holidays because we are deeply religious AND enjoy the commercial aspects as well. We decided to hide a bunch of candy filled eggs around our house and did a little basket for Ryan. They were from US, there was no mention of a large rabbit around and I was fine with that.

We also went to church and enjoyed the spiritual side of Easter as well. I loved getting us all dressed this morning (okay hubs can dress himself but I did tell him what to wear) We looked better in person I promise- hubs decided to SHAVE his head a few days ago and I had been wrestling children for an hour of church already. However we did have fun. I wish I had a full body shot (said in the classic N.D. movie voice) but I dont. Imagine tan cotton pencil skirt and really high wedges..

The little boys were decked out in Childrens Place and Ryan's shoes are Sperrys- a steal form Nordstrom Rack.

Christmas 2011

This Christmas was a bit stressful for all of us. We werent sure when baby boy was going to arrive, if we would even be home to enjoy our morning, and what not. I was hoping for an early delivery so I could be home with my 3 boys but once Thursday of last week rolled around I begged little man to stay in through the holiday weekend. Of course he did and now we are more than ready for him to vacate the premises.

We are lucky to live by both our families, hubs are right down the road and mine are 2.5 hours away. We knew we would spend the weekend at home with me trying not to move much and go into labor but that we would see my in laws and open presents with them. That was all fine and dandy til I was up late talking to my mom on facebook Friday night. They were so bummed about Christmas this year and not getting to spend it with their ray of sunshine-- Ryan. My family has been through a lot the last year and it has been really rough on everyone, they were hoping to have a fun Christmas with the little dude to take their minds of things. They were not able to travel to our house so hubs and I came up with a crazy idea.

 Depending on how I felt the night before with the baby and all we would pack up our presents (Ryan doesnt like santa and didnt know what he was missing anyway) and drive up to my parents house for the day and surprise them! We left the house by 6am Sunday morning and arrived just as they were getting up. My parents rarely receive happy surprises and I can never pull one over on them but this worked out perfect. There were LOTS of tears from everyone, I had a gut feeling that we needed to come but seeing the looks on their faces and watching them react to us standing on the front porch just confirmed HOW badly they needed us and their little Ryan there with them.

 On the way home hubs asked me how I liked the day, if I enjoyed my presents and what not. The day was perfect, it wasnt about presents or santa, it was about family, faith, and love. It was how Christmas is supposed to be.

I am grateful we got to spend the day with my parents. It made it even sweeter that my baby sister was in town from Utah and my grandparents were there from Idaho. This is the last Christmas my grandma will be aware of, Alzheimers is taking her away from us and I dont know how much longer we have with her.

I wasnt worried about having the baby that day, I had a pretty calm feeling about the whole thing. If it came down to it we could always get in the car and come home at the first sign of contractions or deliver at the near by hospital. Though I do admit being 40 weeks pregnant and traveling was risky! Thank you hubs for believing in me and putting up with my crazy ideas. This might have been my favorite Christmas yet.
